This Burrata Appetizer is topped with pesto sauce and layered with fresh arugula and tomatoes.

This post is all about how to make a vibrant Burrata Cheese platter.
This Burrata Appetizer is loaded with fresh ingredients and flavored with pesto sauce and balsamic glaze. I served it with crostini, and it was fantastic!
So, what is Burrata? It’s an Italian cheese with a creamy center and a soft mozzarella exterior. It looks just like a ball of mozzarella, except the interior is filled with cream and stracciatella.
If you live near a Trader Joe’s store, they sell two cheese balls in one container as pictured above. Not all grocery stores will carry this cheese. Most importantly, don’t let anyone convince you that a ball of mozzarella cheese is the same as Burrata. Mozzarella does not have a creamy center.
I must warn you: This appetizer is incredibly delicious. If you are having a dinner party, limit your guests (especially on the crostini) because it’s easy to eat way more than one or two servings, and then they will get full, fast!

FAQs
What Is The Difference Between Mozzarella And Burrata Cheese?
Mozzarella and Burrata are similar Italian cheeses, except Burrata (which means buttery in Italian) has a creamy center and tastes softer and richer. Mozzarella is great for melting on pizzas because of its low moisture, while Burrata is not ideal for melting because of its high moisture content.
How Should I Store This Burrata Appetizer?
If you have any leftovers, they should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator because the Burrata Cheese contains dairy. I recommend making the platter the day of serving so the tomatoes and arugula are fresh.
